Because of the damage to so much infrastructure, initially we were unsure of how we could reach people. Then we began receiving requests from people in the area, asking for BfA to donate Bibles that they could pass along to victims of the hurricane.

These requests ranged from restaurant workers collecting donations in Greensboro, NC to a grandmother preparing care packages with her grandchildren in Kannapolis, NC. One request stated:

“We are collecting life-saving essentials for Western NC counties and believe that having the Word is the most essential item we can provide.”

In all, we were able to send 550 New Testaments for local volunteers to give to those who had lost so much. We were touched and encouraged that in the midst of so much devastation, people were burdened to ensure that victims had access to the Word of God.

We receive the Bibles from our overseas printers in large pallets that hold 1,200 Bibles each, packaged in boxes of 20. Shipments come in truckloads of about 50,000 at a time. Once the Bibles are unloaded from the trucks, they are labeled and neatly arranged in our warehouse space. We process one pallet at a time, unboxing the Bibles and placing them in BfA-branded slip covers. An insert that explains how to use the features of the Recovery Version is also included with every Bible. Once all the components have been assembled, the Bibles are put through our shrink-wrap machine and heat tunnel. They are then labeled and put into sacks to be taken to the post office, where they are shipped out to recipients all across the country.

BfA had a corner booth in a central location and engaged with numerous visitors. Throughout the two-day event, volunteers distributed 540 free copies of the New Testament Recovery Version in both English and Spanish and over 650 Christian books. Volunteers reported that many of the visitors to the booth lingered and wanted to have further fellowship.

There are plans to continue having a BfA booth at this book festival. Due to the overwhelming positive response, the volunteers ordered more than twice as many Bibles and books to give away in 2025.

In October, we began offering copies of The Knowledge of Life by Witness Lee to residents of the US and its territories. This profound book examines the believer’s need to possess and experience God’s divine life in order to fulfill God’s purpose. It provides a foundation for the genuine experience of Christ by helping readers know and experience the eternal, divine life of God, which has been made available to us through Christ’s death and resurrection.

In 2024, we shipped over 4,000 copies to people in 49 states and Puerto Rico.

We'd like to present a brief overview of the lives of these two men of God.

Watchman Nee (1903-1972) received Christ at the age of 17 during a pivotal time in Chinese history. He dedicated his life to Christian ministry and delved into the Bible and the spiritual writings of other believers. He eventually began to write about the Christian life in various publications. Through his ministry, many people came to personally know God and apprehend the truths in the Bible. In the late 1930s, he spoke a series of messages that were eventually published as The Normal Christian Life.

In 1952, he was arrested for his faith by the Communist Chinese government and spent the remainder of his days in prison. After much suffering, he died in a labor camp in 1972. After his death, a guard found a piece of paper in his room with the following words:

"Christ is the Son of God who died for the redemption of sinners and resurrected after three days. This is the greatest truth in the universe. I die because of my belief in Christ.”

Countless believers have been enlightened and nourished by the ministry of Watchman Nee. In 2009, the United States Congress recognized him for his devotion to his faith and his contributions to Christians worldwide.

Witness Lee (1905-1997) was born into a Christian family in China and received an excellent education at Christian schools. Thanks to the prayers of his sister, he received the Lord at age 19.

After he was saved, Lee gave up many lofty ambitions for his future and committed himself to serve the Lord for his entire life. He became a serious student of the Bible and read numerous spiritual writings, including those by Watchman Nee.

In 1932, Lee and others invited Watchman Nee to their town of Chefoo for fellowship. Subsequently, Nee and Lee began to work closely together and in 1934, Nee entrusted Lee with his publication work. The two of them traveled throughout China ministering the Word of God, focusing on the experience of Christ as life. More than 400 churches were established as a result of their work.

In 1949, foreseeing the persecution of Christians in Communist China, Nee commissioned Lee to move to Taiwan and continue ministering there, ensuring the preservation and spread of the divine truths the Lord had revealed to them.

In the 1950s, after visiting the United States, Lee felt a deep concern for the Christians there who were hungry for the truths in God's Word. He moved to the US in 1962 and continued his ministry for decades. Starting in 1974, he began to labor on the Recovery Version of the Bible, a new translation directly from the original manuscripts. It also includes outlines for each book, insightful notes, and extensive cross-references.

At BfA, we decided to give away the New Testament Recovery Version with all of these wonderful study tools. We, along with countless other believers, have been helped by this version to know and experience Christ in His Word.

We pray that the Lord would continue to bless the blog and use it to enlighten many more seekers of truth.

These e-books can be downloaded from anywhere in the world. In 2024 alone, they were downloaded over 510,000 times by people in 179 different countries, with the majority of these downloads coming from outside the United States.

In fact, besides the US, the five countries with the most downloads were India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Iraq. We’re so encouraged to see this tremendous hunger all over the world for the Word of God, including in predominantly Muslim countries! We pray that the Lord would continue to lead all those seeking Him to the truth that can only be found in His Word, no matter where they are.
