Frequently Asked Questions

1. I’m not familiar with this version of the Bible. Can you tell me more about it?

The New Testament Recovery Version was first published in 1985 by Living Stream Ministry. It embodies extensive research into the meaning of the original Greek text and expresses this meaning with English that is to the point, easy to understand, and readable. The Recovery Version contains numerous study aids, including the subject and background of each book; detailed, interpretive outlines; enlightening footnotes; valuable cross-references; and a variety of useful charts and maps. Visit our New Testament Recovery Version Bible page for details about these valuable features. For further information provided by the publisher, please visit their website at recoveryversion.org.

2. Why do you give away only the New Testament?

We believe the entire Holy Bible—Old and New Testament—is the complete and only divine revelation of God. But because of cost, we give away only the New Testament, which allows us to reach more people with God’s Word.

3. Is the whole Bible available in this version?

The Holy Bible Recovery Version is available for purchase from the publisher. Visit the publisher’s website to order a hard copy, and lsm.org/epublications to view instructions for downloading an electronic copy.

4. What does recovery mean in Recovery Version?

The word recovery here refers not to recovery from alcohol, drug, or other addictions. It refers to the recovery of lost biblical truth, Christian experience, and church practice through the centuries by God’s people.

5. Is shipping free too?

Yes! We really want you to have the Bible, so everything, including shipping, is completely free.

6. Can I order for other people?

We do not fill orders made on behalf of others without their consent. If you think people you know would want to receive our free material, please refer them to our website where they can order for themselves.

7. Can I order more than one copy?

Free copies of the New Testament Recovery Version are limited to one copy per person. This allows us to give away free materials in as widespread a way as possible. If you have further questions regarding our order policy, you can email us at info@bfa.org.
